    6. The biological research scientist, Eric Jacobs, is deformed, and appears to be a form of Acromegaly. What does this mean?

    Acromegaly is a hormonal disorder that results from too much growth hormone (GH) in the body. The pituitary, a small gland in the brain, makes GH. In acromegaly, the pituitary produces excessive amounts of GH. Usually the excess GH comes from benign, or noncancerous, tumors on the pituitary. These benign tumors are called adenomas.

    7. In the 1957 movie, The Incredible Shrinking Man, Scott Carey is on vacation on a boat with his wife. What happens that causes him to begin to shrink?

    Radioactive cloud fog passes the boat, leaving a layer of mist on his skin.
